The HRB CRF-UCC also supports Clinical Investigators (local and from external national and international institutions/networks) who have obtained funding and who want to commence research in hospitals in University College Cork or affiliated hospital, from study set up, recruitment, to data lock, analysis and archiving. The HRB CRF-UCC typically support the following type of funded research:

Local or UCC affiliated Investigators who have obtained academic funding (e.g. H2020, HRB, Welcome Trust, etc.)

Local or UCC affiliated Investigators who have obtained research funding from commercial entities or from donations from charity (e.g. Mercy University Hospital Foundation)

Clinical Investigators  from external national and international Universities or Clinical Trial Networks who have obtained funding.

Unfunded support requests to HRB CRF-UCC for academic clinical research

Support from CRF-UCC is usually for projects with sufficient available funding. The CRF-UCC is not a research funding agency and does not typically have the ability to support unfunded studies. On occasion an investigator may however seek unfunded support for certain CRF-UCC capabilities -such as monitoring or biostatistics- to facilitate study conduct. All non- or insufficiently-funded requests for support will be reviewed at the CRF-UCC Management Meeting. Where it is deemed that  some non-funded support should be provided to a study, this will then need to be ratified by a Review Committee consisting of the Chair of the CRF-UCC Management Board, COMH Vice Dean for Research  and a nominated 3rd party knowledgeable of the specified scientific research area but independent of the investigation team.To submit a request for unfunded support please refer to the application form located at https://crf.ucc.ie/application-forms/
