Contact: Joanne Walsh Crowley

Director of Operations & Clinical Trials

The General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) came into force on 25 May 2018 and has been the source of much concern and confusion within clinical research community across Ireland.

The HRB CRF-UCC is well placed to support investigators to address the issues surrounding GDPR compliance at all stages of the research process. The HRB CRF-UCC can provide advice on compliance with national and/or EU Data protection regulations, if relevant to research application (especially if the study involves transfer of data outside EU) in order to ensure an adequate level of data protection is achieved . In particular the HRB HRB CRF-UCC can provide advice to on how investigators can address the requirements under the General Data Protection Regulation EU 2016/679.
